Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. At the age of five years old, she moved to Oxfordshire and attended an Oxfordshire-based Dragon School. From the age of six Emma was aware she would like to become an actress. For many years she was a student at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught performing and singing. By the time she turned 10 Emma was a participant in several Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone was the film of 2001 remake from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theatre instructor. After a string of auditions for eight consecutive times, producer David Heyman told Emma and the other candidates Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were selected for the roles of the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance in a film was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. It was also the most profitable film in the year 2001. The opening days and weekends of the sales were unbeatable. It was highly praised by critics, as were the performance of three stars. The highly distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance "awesome. Emma took home the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in the Feature Film. Later, she was awarded five times for her part in the film.
